About the area

The perfect base for exploring the area

The Rhins of Galloway is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the stunning natural environment.

The area is a cyclists' and walkers' paradise and the perfect retreat away from it all.

The rugged coastline provides spectacular views with plenty of inspiration for artists and others simply seeking relaxation away from the stresses of modern life.

Basking in the Gulf Stream, southern hemisphere plants thrive in the nearby Royal Botanic Gardens at Logan - Britian's most exotic gardens which are open to the public.

Port Logan, just a few miles from Drummore, was the setting for the BBC TV series 2000 Acres of Sky starring Michelle Collins while the Mull of Galloway, Scotland's most southerly point, is just six miles from the Queen's Hotel.

The lighthouse at the Mull of Galloway is open to visitors and there is an RSPB Visitor Centre outlining the sea birds to be found here. Drummore itself offers a range of facilities including a Post Office and the Drummore Stores with a cash machine available in the village.

A number of boats are available to take sea anglers out  and other nearby attractions include Ardwell Gardens, Portpatrick and golfing opportunities.
